About Originalize Web Design
My name is Mike Gomez and I was born in York, North Yorkshire on 31st October 1985. Through School I obtained 9 GCSE's and a GCSE short course at Millthorpe School and went on to study AS-level Graphics, A-level Business and A-level Biology at York City Sixth Form & Technology College.
While at College I found my interest in web design and computer based graphics. This began as a hobby at home designing 'signatures' on various forums. I created a small member based site for a PlayStation 2 game, known as 'This is Football 2004' , and from there I was inspired to take my web design to a new level.
I realised that web design would be something I could truly succeed in due to my strong ability of creative thinking and interest in Art and Graphics. I decided to self teach myself XHTML and CSS from various books and did so for 3-4 months. Once I had grasped the knowledge of web design, I thought "Why not go further?" so I took a look at web development. In result, I taught myself PHP and MySQL.
In February 2005, I took a work placement at MyKnowledgeMap (MKM) based in the centre of York to gain vital experience working as a web designer. During my time at MKM, I was responsible for designing the homepage and the business templates for Strategy Blueprint.
I soon took a course in Web Design and passed for a Level III Diploma in Web Design and since became a member of the Association of Certified IT Professionals (ACITP for short) and a certified Web Designer.
So, I'm here, loving what I do.
